I kinda lied!

Okay, okay...so I kinda lied about posting the next day. I feel like my days are hectic even though I'm not working. Not to mention I had another ailment pop up out of nowhere.  A few weeks back my hip started aching on and off, but I didn't really think anything of it. Old age, arthritis (runs in the family), helping my sister with her new house, etc...figured all of the above.  Well as the weeks went on my hip was hurting more often and the pain was traveling down my thigh and leg.  It felt like a deep bone pain which started to freak me out.  I don't think I was ever really scared through out this whole BC bullshit, but I gotta say this pain had me convinced that Bone Cancer was gonna be my next battle.  I finally called my doctor, who suggested I see the neuro doc I've seen before with my brain tumor. I asked to be x-rayed since neither my oncologist or neuro doc thought it was necessary to get a bone scan so soon after all my other scans (which showed nothing new). At my appointment, the doc gave me a physical examine and determined the pain wasn't anything neurological since there was no tingling or numbness, sooo lets try more pain meds for 2 weeks and see what happens. Gee thanks doc! Well when I got home and looked up the med I decided not to take any. The doctor told me it was an anti-inflammatory, but all I could find on the web was "pain killer". Since I am already on extended release Morphine for my back, and have liquid morphine for break through pain I didn't think adding another pain killer was the answer. So anyways, I was given a Rx for physical therapy and was ordered to go 2-3 times a week...well the wonderful thing about Medicaid is they only allow one session a week. "Yup, that oughta do it!" Needless to say, I'm still in pain and am having to constantly take my liquid morphine every 2 hours to keep the pain at bay.

Did I mention, I HATE narcotics! My body does not handle them very well. After 2 years I am used to the extended release morphine tabs, but this liquid morphine is no fun. Yesterday my lunch decided to make a reappearance... Oh, and not to mention the constipation that goes along with it. I've been doubling up on Colace, sprinkling flax seed on EVERYTHING, and snackin on prunes...how old am I you ask? ...well from this blog it sounds like a 60 yr old woman. At 32 years old, I never thought I'd be blogging about hip pain and constipation haha.

I see my oncologist and neuro doc on Tuesday, lets hope someone has an answer for me.

35 days til Germany!

Stay healthy my friends!
